Press release -

Works commence at Bury Library

Work has started at Bury Library to integrate the new Sculpture Centre into the Bury Library building.

The public are still able to access the building via the main front entrance or by using the disabled access ramp.

During this period the library service will continue to provide its usual services for library users, who are welcome to come into the library as usual.

Stock continues to be removed temporarily in order to carry out the necessary tagging for the public self-service (RFID - Radio Frequency Identification) equipment and as part of the usual stock management policy.

After the works are completed, the library shelving will be moved back in along with the RFID equipment.

Work will then commence on the space dedicated for the new Sculpture Centre, with a timescale for completion in mid-March.

The council apologises for any inconvenience while this work is being undertaken.

For information about all library services, see http://www.bury.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=2489 or follow at www.facebook.com/burylibraries or http://twitter.com/burylibraries
