Press release —
ECC's holiday park and timeshare division updates from July 2026
ECC celebrated 10 years of claims success last month. Here are the current headlines in our timeshare and holiday park divisions.
Timeshare
As usual, the European Consumer Claims timeshare team, Timeshare Advice Centre, are dealing with relinquishments and compensation claims against multiple resorts from all over the world.
However the two ongoing cases that we have had to expend most time, effort and legal resources on are the Club la Costa and Anfi administrations/liquidations.
Thankfully, after many years and much legal wrangling, the Anfi compensation payment schedule has finally begun. MIllions of Euros are currently being paid out in batches to our clients.
The Club la Costa mis-selling scandal is arguably the biggest consumer scam in the history of timeshare, and as you can imagine there is some stiff competition. CLC have had tens of millions of pounds awarded against them in compensation by the courts, and various CLC companies have attempted to avoid paying what they owe by entering administration or liquidation.
FRP are handling the liquidation for CLC (UK) Plc, and ECC are administratively supporting our clients' claims against CLC's assets.
Holiday parks
ECC's holiday park team, Holiday Park Advice Centre, began looking into claims in December 2024. We began actively claiming compensation for mis-sold customers in the sector early 2025.
In the first 18 months we have fielded over 30,000 enquiries from aggrieved holiday park owners. Our team has meticulously documented and assessed the viability of every case. From these we are now assisting 2806 clients, whose average claim value is £58,886.
Over 1600 of these case files are already with our collaborating solicitors. Hundreds of LBAs have been issued, with a total claim value worth tens of millions of pounds.
We have already reported on one high court victory worth £180,000 to the client, and are negotiating many further out of court settlements with a total value of several million pounds.
It has become clear to us that there are significant volumes of consumer detriment in dire need of redress in the holiday park industry.
CEO comment
Greg Wilson is a widely respected consumer expert and CEO of ECC. Greg explains that evolution is the natural state of being for the claims industry.
"Sadly, one of the few things that can be relied upon on our society is corporate greed. Companies naturally seek ways to increase revenue and drive down costs, that's just honest capitalism at work. The problem is when they don't operate within the law, or they push the boundaries of what is legal and fair. There are always grey areas, and it's up to firms like us to demonstrate when and how a consumer has suffered financial loss due to a company which has acted unfairly."
"The companies push back of course. They see 'fairness' through the prism of their own interests, so our job is to make sure justice is done, and our clients fiscally compensated.
"When we incorporated back in 2016 we had our sights set on timeshare companies who had been acting appallingly for decades. We secured close to £30 million in compensation for their victims. Since then we have adapted to challenge not only holiday parks, but retirement property developers, solar panels firms, overseas mortgage providers and more.
"This list will continuously increase and change as we identify new areas of consumer abuse."
If you have had an unfair consumer experience that you think we should know about, get in touch with our team for a confidential consultation.
