Timeshare Advice Centre charity boost for Hospitality Action

Timeshare Advice Centre (TAC) and ECC throw financial support behind Cliveden House Hospitality Action charity team

Hospitality Action

This 186 year old charity was established to support people who work or have worked in the UK hospitality sector and are down on their luck. Hotels, restaurant, pub, bar, café, school, hospital, or event workers reply on Hospitality Action. HA gives help, advice and support to people suffering from physical or mental health issues, financial difficulties, family problems and even addiction.

To do this important work, Hospitality Action needs constant funding.

2023 fundraising

The Hospitality Action 'Summer Challenge' has a goal of raising £150,000 by participants covering 75,000 miles. Whether it be cycling. running, swimming or crawling, HA is hoping to hit an average of £2 for every mile covered. This targeted £150,000 could:

  • Help 1000 households with an emergency grant. To put food on the table in a time of crisis.
  • Provide 13,927 Kilowatt hours of heating. For a family struggling to make ends meet.
  • Help 300 households with a Household Support Grant towards rising cost of food and fuel.
  • Help 180 households at immediate risk of homelessness to clear arrears keeping them in their home.

The 11 day challenge has already begun, and teams from all over the UK are taking part.

Cliveden House

350 year old, award winning luxury hotel and spa Cliveden House is set on 376 acres of stunning National Trust grounds. Built in 1666, a tumultuous year of English history (the Black Plague and Great Fire of London), by the 2nd Duke of Buckingham as a gift to his mistress, this Grade 1 stately home has remained a symbol of glamour ever since.

The Cliveden House team have thrown themselves into the Summer Challenge and on the 13th of June they achieved their goal of covering 376 miles between them. One for every acre on the estate.

Timeshare Advice Centre has supported the Cliveden House efforts with significant financial input.

A grateful Francisco Macedo, ILH Group Operations Director & Cliveden General Manager said: "I am delighted that TAC and ECC, in the person of CEO Andy Cooper, is once again supporting our fundraising initiative by donating to our Summer Challenge,

"The hospitality industry has been battered over the last few years with the pandemic, followed by the cost-of-living crisis destroying the lives and livelihoods of hospitality workers and their families, despite having no control in any of these factors.

"The important funds raised, will continue to support these people that have fallen in hard times and support them to get back on track. I would encourage every company to support us if they can."

Timeshare Advice Centre

"Timeshare Advice Centre and European Consumer Claims have always championed the rights of those who have suffered unfairly, not just in their official role of rescuing timeshare mis-selling victims, but also in their humanitarian and charity support," says Andrew Cooper. CEO of ECC.

Philanthropist and humanitarian Andrew Cooper

"Timeshare Advice Centre has historically spoken out for the traditional hospitality industry," Cooper continues. "The TAC mission is to help people who are trapped in dated timeshare memberships and forced to pay money every year to those companies. By freeing them from their unwanted contracts TAC makes it possible for them to spend that holiday money in the open marketplace, inn turn benefiting regular hospitality workers."

Cooper has one more piece of good news for those hospitality staff who may be down on their luck or out of work. "We are always on the look out for new talent and those with experience in hospitality are a great fit for our organisation, whether that be to fill roles in Henley-on-Thames, or over in our Malaga office," he says. "Anyone who is interested just needs to get in touch and send us your CV."
