Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) announces that it has issued proceedings at the High Court to seek an injunction to enable the operation of new 12 car train services on Gatwick Express. Southern is putting on a series of special trains to ensure that everyone can get to the start of Brighton’s 2016 marathon. At 9.15am on Sunday 17th April, runners will start from Preston Park and finish at Brighton’s Madeira Drive.

Network Rail is about to start a programme of work on a 10 mile stretch of the Arun Valley Line to remove, clean and replace ballast. The work will take place overnight until August, (with a two-week break in June) but in order for the programme to be completed within the 18-week period, changes to late evening Southern services on the line will be necessary.
