First Hitachi-made metro unveiled in Florida Hitachi Rail Italy today presented the first vehicle for the new Metro for Miami-Dade County, with the Miami Mayor Carlos Gimenez and the Japanese Consul General Ken Okaniwa in attendance.

Today Hitachi Rail Italy delivered train number 1 of the new automatic Lima Metro. The first 6 cars of the innovative train, built in Reggio Calabria were unloaded at the port of the Peruvian capital. The train, made of aluminium is 108 m long and 2,85 m wide, has a capacity of 166 seated and 1,105 standing passengers, and is capable of reaching a max speed of 90 km/h.
