LA punk songstress Suzi Moon preps solo debut single "Special Place In Hell" via Pirates Press Records

Pirates Press Records is excited to announce that SUZI MOON, the new band from the former CIVET member and TURBULENT HEARTS frontwoman.

Moon's debut single "Special Place In Hell" will be released digitally on April 2nd with her EP set to be released later this spring.

Although Moon has been a part of the punk scene for the last 15 years, it was finally time to truly step into her own. "Songwriting is my passion & I really wanted to own that moving forward. Going solo was a totally natural progression for me. It just took some time for me to be ready. It's a little bit scary but here I am, unapologetically Suzi Moon, puttin' it all on the line for everyone that'll listen!" says Moon.

Suzi Moon got her musical start by joining her older sisters in the all-female band CIVET, releasing 2 albums on Hellcat Records and touring the world for 8 years. Moon then stepped front and center for TURBULENT HEARTS, a DIY group that saw themselves landing spots at Punk Rock Bowling, the Vans Warped Tour, plus self-booking three consecutive Europe & UK summer tours.

With deep ties to the tight-knit Southern California punk scene, fate struck one evening while Moon was attending a show for The Bronx where she was introduced by photographer Lisa Johnson to Pirates Press Records' Vique Martin. When Moon began showing new music to Martin, the opportunity to bring Moon into the Pirates Press Records family was obvious.

"She writes her own music, is a vibrant, charismatic, and engaging live performer, and she has a work ethic that would put most people to shame! I love that she is true to her vision for both her sound and her image and I think people are gonna be shocked by how great these three songs we are releasing are!" says Martin.

With Moon's debut single coming this April and a new EP to be released later this spring, it will only be a matter of time before Moon is back in her most comfortable setting - on stage with a microphone in hand and the spotlight shining on her.
