Brazilian post-punks Herzegovina drop new video and prep live performance of new album 'Emergency'

Hailing from the hills of Rio de Janeiro, Herzegovina, are a trio formed by guitarist and vocalist Rafael Crespo, bassist Marcello Fernandes and drummer Mario Mamede. The group has been mining their brand of exotic, abstract post-punk since 2016 when they released their first EP '5AM'.
In September 2020, in the midst of all the madness, disorientation and panic brought on by the pandemic crisis, Brazilian post-punks Herzegovina resolved to channel and feed off that chaotic energy in a most productive fashion. The band packed up the van and drove to an isolated location in the hills of Rio de Janeiro to flesh out a live session around their latest album Emergency.

The band managed to perfectly capture their unique brand of "darkly angular and experimental post-punk" on video using very limited resources. You can check out the video for "In Danger" from those sessions below.
The group will be taking part this week in another live broadcast on 25/3, brought to you by Plainsong and Audio Rebel.

RECENT PRESS
'Emergency' ploughs a deeply nostalgic furrow, their icy guitars and throbbing bass effortlessly recalling the early 80s, long overcoat, proto-gothic sounds of The Chameleons, The Sound, Luddites, early Sisters Of Mercy etc. - Vive Le Rock
As I listened to these two songs that sit smack dab in the middle of their latest album "Emergency" and the divergent mix of tracks prior and after like the jagged surreal "Black Cat" or the bottom fed bass / guitar assault of the title track or the dark horror pop affection of "Intoxicação" (which is deliciously mind blowing), I thought of an amalgam of so many artists I love like Television, Devo, Richard Hell and the Voidoids and even early Talking Heads.- American Pancake
This punkish Brazilian band is somewhat varied in their approach to music, with tracks ranging from the surf-punk of “Ego Arcade” to the darkly angular and experimental “Intoxicac¸a~o” (“Intoxication”). I like the opening track, “Emergency,” which has a post-punk meets math-rock feel. “In Danger” is post-punk but with rhythm that blends the B-52s with ska-like beats. We get the bouncy “Blue Eyes Dancer,” a post-punk meets pop tune, and the retro Manchester dance style song “Road of Joy.” - Jersey Beat
