The impact of Covid-19 on stammering services

NHS stammering therapy is now being provided remotely but services are very limited, with some therapists being redeployed to the frontline. Courses have been cancelled and postponed.

First Ever Webchat Service Launched for People Who Stammer as Dysfluency increases under Lockdown
Stamma have launched a new webchat service, at a time when the charity’s services are needed more than ever. Their research shows that lockdown has resulted in increased disfluency in 38% of their members who stammer, and 58% of parents report that their child is stammering during this crisis.

Sign up for the Manchester 10K Run
By the time the Manchester 10k hits on Sunday 19th May, we’ll be in full swing with the Stamma campaign. The run is Europe’s largest 10k event, and our first foray into the world of Stamma fundraising.
