On Saturday October 26th, at 11am, people who stammer will be heading to 6 Starbucks stores in the UK, bringing family and friends in a unique demonstration against Starbucks. They'll be ordering something to drink.

STAMMA has appointed Roger Pim as its new Chair, who will sit on the Board as Chair Elect until October when Acting Chair Paul Fix will formally hand over the reins. The vacancy came about when Joanna Gaukroger stood down for health reasons.
An omnibus poll conducted by YouGov on 25th January 2024 showed that brand recognition for STAMMA, the British Stammering Association, stands at a record high of 19%. This has risen dramatically since 2018, when only 2% were able to identify them as a charity for people who stammer.

STAMMA has been working with J. Scott Yaruss (Professor in Communicative Sciences and Disorders) and his team at Michigan State University on YouGov Polling to ascertain how many people believe they have a stammer. Their latest 2021 polling suggests a figure of 2%.
Stamma have launched a new webchat service, at a time when the charity’s services are needed more than ever. Their research shows that lockdown has resulted in increased disfluency in 38% of their members who stammer, and 58% of parents report that their child is stammering during this crisis.
