    Testing a new hosting concept: Outdoor Qualified certificate

    A pilot test of a brand new concept is currently in progress, with some of Dalarna's accommodation facilities being certified as Outdoor Qualified by Visit Dalarna. “As a certified Outdoor Qualified accommodation facility, we can create conditions to attract completely new target groups and offer more incentives for the visitor to travel,” says Andreas Hermansson, Outdoor business developer.

    A healthy polar bear cub is born in Dalarna. It is unusual that polar bears have cubs in zoos, and only fifty percent of the cubs survive the first critical weeks. 'The first couple of weeks were nerve-racking of course, since it was a big risk that the cub would not survive', says Johanna Berglund, caretaker in the park.
