Lostboyslab Expands to the U.S. with New 3D Print Farms in Miami and Los Angeles

Los Angeles, CA / Miami, FL — September 2, 2025
Lostboyslab AB, a pioneer in sustainable additive manufacturing, is expanding to the United States with the launch of two new large-scale 3D print farms located in Miami (Plantation) and Los Angeles (Mission Viejo). The initiative is supported by a new investment round aimed at accelerating localized, automated production in line with circular economy principles.

The new facilities will be fully integrated into Lostboyslab’s global production network using SimplyPrint, a leading cloud platform for managing 3D printer fleets. This integration allows for remote monitoring, centralized control, and full synchronization between sites in the U.S. and Sweden.

“This is not just expansion—it’s the next step in creating a truly intelligent, distributed manufacturing network,” said Stefan Larsson, Group CEO of whatt.io and CEO of Lostboyslab AB. “By embedding product data directly into manufacturing processes, we’re unlocking smarter workflows and real sustainability at scale.”

Each U.S. site will serve as a microfactory for on-demand, local production, focusing on spare parts, digital inventory, and industrial components tied to Digital Product Passports (DPPs) powered by whatt.io. Products manufactured at these sites will be equipped with NFC tags, enabling secure authentication, traceability, and digital ownership throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Highlights:

  • New 3D print farms established in Miami and Los Angeles

  • Facilities integrated into the SimplyPrint production platform

  • Embedded NFC + DPP technology enables full product traceability and authentication

  • Designed to meet future regulatory demands for circular and sustainable manufacturing

  • Aligns with Lostboyslab's broader strategy to support localized, automated production

This U.S. expansion comes as Lostboyslab’s Swedish operations return to their innovation roots in Vellinge, where the company is building an Autonomous Additive Factory. This facility will focus on AI, robotics, and whatt.io’s NFC-based infrastructure, including R&D into embedding NFC tags directly into 3D printed casings—a key requirement in the transition to physical Digital Product Passports.

Lostboyslab and whatt.io are also active contributors to key research efforts, including the EU’s CIRPASS-2 project and Sweden’s MCSR program with Vinnova, both focused on defining the future of digital product identity, spare parts management, and additive manufacturing standards.

Through these combined efforts, the companies are building a decentralized, data-driven manufacturing ecosystem that’s smarter, more resilient, and aligned with the global shift toward circular production.
