whattio.app — A Platform Shift for Digital Product Passports

whatt.io today announces the launch of the whatt.io App Store, a new marketplace for Digital Product Passport (DPP) tools, web services, and deep system integrations. The App Store marks a major evolution of the whatt.io platform — from DPP as a Service to DPP Platform as a Service — enabling scalable customization, third-party development, and full product data lifecycle integration from cradle to grave.

The whatt.io App Store becomes the central hub for discovering, installing, and managing applications built for the whatt.io ecosystem. These apps use the whatt.io API and they extend the core platform with functionality across PLM, PIM, CAD, manufacturing, NFC hardware, and IoT, allowing brands and developers to tailor DPP workflows to their specific needs.

“This is a fundamental shift for whatt.io,” said Stefan Larsson, Group CEO. “We are opening the platform for real extensibility — where product data can flow seamlessly between design, manufacturing, ownership, service, and end-of-life systems.”

A Marketplace Built for the DPP Ecosystem

The whatt.io App Store hosts several categories of applications:

  • Web service apps extending the whatt.io back office for brands and users

  • Mobile apps linked from Apple iOS and Google Play

  • Autodesk Fusion add-ins for CAD-driven DPP workflows and linked from the Fusion 360 add-in store

  • Hardware-focused apps and source code, including C++ tools for Arduino-powered incendo NFC programming devices

  • Direct integrations with GitHub, Arduino Cloud, and external repositories

Many apps are free of charge, including open-source tools, while others are available as part of whatt.io subscriptions or offered as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS).

Enterprise & Team-Based App Distribution

In addition to public apps, the whatt.io App Store supports custom corporate applications that can be distributed privately within the platform.

Organizations can connect company-specific or industry-specific applications to the App Store and make them available only to users registered within a defined TEAM in the whatt.io back office. This allows enterprises, industry consortia, and solution providers to deploy internal tools, integrations, and workflows securely — without exposing them publicly.

This makes the whatt.io App Store not only a marketplace, but also a controlled distribution mechanism for:

  • Custom enterprise integrations

  • Industry-specific DPP tools

  • Internal web services and automation

  • Proprietary manufacturing or compliance workflows

This open platform approach allows DPP data to move seamlessly between digital models, physical products, and connected production environments, reducing manual work, logistics complexity, and data silos.

    Roadmap and Availability

The whatt.io App Store launches today as a public pre-release, with a growing set of tools and services available from day one.
whatt.io currently has more than 20 apps in active development, with additional launches planned throughout 2026.

The App Store will serve as the central place to:

    • Learn about new capabilities

    • Manage installed apps

    • Control permissions and access by TEAM

    • Enable custom workflows across the full product lifecycle
