whatt.io Launches MCP Server — AI Infrastructure for DPP Creation and Management
whatt.io today announces the release of its MCP Server, now available via the whatt.io App Store, GitHub, and Node.js.
The MCP Server is a key part of whatt.io’s strategy to evolve into a full DPP Platform, enabling developers, brands, and manufacturers to integrate AI directly into the creation and management of Digital Product Passports.
AI for the Back Office — Not Just the Frontend
While whatt.io already provides AI-powered user interaction through Dolores, its conversational assistant for end-users, the MCP Server is designed for a different purpose:
To support the creators of DPPs — the brands, manufacturers, and developers managing product data at scale.
Using MCP (Model Context Protocol), AI systems can securely interact with the whatt.io back office to:
- Create and manage DPP data
- Query large product datasets
- Automate workflows
- Structure and validate product information
- Integrate with external systems and tools
This enables a new level of efficiency in handling complex product data across the full lifecycle.
Part of the whatt.io App Store Strategy
The MCP Server is released as a core component of the whatt.io App Store ecosystem, supporting:
- Third-party developer integrations
- Custom enterprise workflows
- AI-driven applications built on top of whatt.io
- Scalable data management for DPP platforms
It allows developers to connect AI agents directly to the whatt.io infrastructure, turning APIs into intelligent, context-aware systems.
Why This Matters
The MCP Server shifts Digital Product Passports from static data structures to AI-operable systems.
Instead of manually managing product data, brands can now:
- Interact with their data using AI
- Automate complex workflows
- Scale DPP creation across large product portfolios
“Dolores is how users interact with products. MCP is how companies build and manage them,” says Stefan Larsson, Group CEO of whatt.io.
Available Now
The whatt.io MCP Server is available today:
- In the whatt.io App Store
- On GitHub
- As a Node.js package
