Yanmar Power Solutions, a group company of Yanmar Holdings, has announced plans to build a new factory in Amagasaki, Hyogo Prefecture, to support the development and testing of next-generation marine hydrogen engines. Scheduled to begin operations in March 2029, the facility will strengthen production capabilities and advance alternative-fuel powertrains for a decarbonized future.

Yanmar has launched Yanmar Power Solutions Co., Ltd., a new company dedicated to advancing large engine technologies for marine and land-based applications. Formed through the spin-off of Yanmar Power Technology’s large power products business, the new entity will focus on developing multi-fuel solutions to support the maritime industry’s path toward decarbonization and carbon neutrality by 2050.

The passenger vessel HANARIA, equipped with Yanmar Power Technology Co., Ltd.’s GH240FC maritime hydrogen fuel cell system, has received the Marine Engineering of the Year 2024. The honor is awarded by the Japan Institute of Marine Engineering for outstanding technological innovation in the field.
The Japan Fisheries Research and Education Agency (FRA), Yanmar Holdings Co., Ltd. (Yanmar HD), and Marino-Forum 21 have jointly developed a new tank for the mass production of Japanese eel (Anguilla japonica) seedlings. This initiative is part of a Fisheries Agency-commissioned project titled “Demonstration of Mass-Production System for Commercialization of Eel Seedlings.”
