Elephant Parade announces first trip to South America

Yesterday the Founder and CEO of Elephant Parade, Mike Spits, participated in a press conference to announce the launch of the next Elephant Parade event in Brazil. The gathering of journalists and partners of the exposition was on Il Campanário Vilaggio Resort, at Jurerê International, Florianópolis (SC) – this will be the first city in Latin America to host the cultural exhibition.

Mike commented he was excited to visit Brazil and bring the plight of the Asian elephant to Latin America. "Launching an Elephant Parade in Florianópolis is an honour, the city's happiness is contagious", he said. The Elephant Parade Floripa 2015 sculptures will hit the streets in November 2015, but until then, various activities are scheduled by Labbo Grupo Digital, the company hosting the Elephant Parade in Brazil, to take place in and around the city.

According to Giovane Pasa, Labbo's director, the exhibition will be made up of 50 elephant sculptures. Anyone interested in creating one of the elephants can submit a design for consideration. The call for artists will happen between March and April of 2015. Later the sponsors will choose the proposed works they wish to become patrons of. During September and October the artists will paint the sculptures, and in November 2015 the elephants will appear on the streets and sights of Florianópolis. "The final event will take place on January 30th, 2016, with a charity auction of the art works", explains Giovane. The amount raised from the sale will be split between the Asian Elephant Foundation, a NGO fighting for Asian elephant preservation, a selection of charitable entities based in Florianópolis and a fee will be paid to the artists themselves.

Located in the South of Brazil, Florianópolis is the capital of Santa Catarina state. As the majority of the city area is an island, "Floripa" (as it is known by all) is famous for its more than 40 beaches. Tourism is especially intense in the Summer months, when the city receives visitors from all parts of Brazil and other nearby countries, such as Argentina, Uruguay and Chile. As the event is taking place during the 2015-2016 Summer, Elephant Parade Floripa will be another cultural attraction that will excite the city’s population and tourists in the season.

Elephant Parade Floripa 2015 is presented by Labbo Digital Group, launched in 2000, the company is a pioneer among digital agencies in the state. Labbo develops institutional projects e-commerce, web systems and digital marketing, having served more than 500 clients across the country. Alongside its work in South America Labbo has taken projects to countries across the world including the United States, Japan and Portugal.
