BookBeat grows by 14 percent – record results in Sweden and Poland drive development
Audiobook service BookBeat continues its strong growth in both established and new markets. During the first nine months of the year, revenues increased by 14 percent, driven by a record-high influx of new users, particularly in Sweden and Poland.
“It’s fantastic to see that we are growing in all markets, but the developments in Sweden and Poland really stand out. In Sweden, one of Europe’s most established audiobook markets, we are seeing a record number of new users ten years after our beta launch. At the same time, in Poland, we had our strongest month ever in September, with the highest number of new users in a single month since we launched the service ten years ago – across all BookBeat markets,” says Niclas Sandin, CEO of BookBeat.
During the third quarter, BookBeat surpassed 150,000 paying users in Poland. Earlier this year, the milestone of 1.1 million paying users in total was reached.
Highlights from BookBeat’s third quarter of 2025:
- Successful tactical campaigns in multiple markets resulting in a record influx of new customers, especially in Poland and Sweden
- A major launch campaign in Sweden in collaboration with the publishing house Forum around Camilla Läckberg’s new book Gråterskan, which reached a broad audience and generated growth for BookBeat in the Swedish market
- In Finland, the book JHT – Missio vai mielenrauha by Oskari Saari and Jare Henrik Tiihonen became the most listened-to nonfiction book in BookBeat’s history during the month after its release
“BookBeat aims to be the best at books – nothing else. That’s why I’m especially pleased that much of our recent growth has been driven by major launches from some of the most talked-about authors across Northern Europe. I’m convinced that when we make phenomena even bigger and help them reach wider audiences, the entire book market benefits,” says Niclas Sandin.
