  • Finland and Sweden identify Russian aircraft together for the first time

    Finnish and Swedish Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) fighter jets were scrambled to intercept and identify Russian military aircraft in international airspace over the Gulf of Finland on 24 September 2026. This was the first joint operational identification mission for the Finnish and Swedish air forces.

  • Zelenskyy visits Sweden – Ukraine to receive 16 Swedish JAS 39 Gripen C/D aircraft

    Sweden will donate JAS 39 Gripen C/D fighter aircraft to Ukraine. This was announced during a press conference at the Uppland Air Force Wing (F 16), the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and the Prime Minister of Sweden, Ulf Kristersson. This support will be of major importance in Ukraine’s defense against Russia’s full-scale invasion.
