  • Umicore honors the best chemistry students of the year

    Last Tuesday, Umicore Galvanotechnik GmbH honored the best ninth-grade chemistry students from the Schwaebisch Gmuend region for their outstanding achievements. The young people were invited to the company's headquarters in the heart of Gmünd's southern district and received a silver bar, among other things, in recognition of their achievements.

    As part of the ‘Encounters between Industry and School’ series organised by Umicore, the chemistry and physics classes of the final year at Parler-Gymnasium now had the opportunity to put some of what they have learned into practice at Umicore. The company welcomed the students and their teachers last week to an exclusive insight into the long-established global company in Schwaebisch Gmuend.

    The visit to Umicore Galvanotechnik GmbH by the advanced chemistry course of the 11th grade of the Franziskus-Gymnasium Mutlangen was an exciting encounter between industry and school. The students were warmly welcomed by Steffen Barth, head of the human resources department, and Karl Hieber, manager of the site. They were given a fascinating insight into the company in Schwaebisch Gmuend.
