Hotel in Horsens achieves DGNB certification
New sustainability benchmark in Horsens: The hotel in Recharge City demonstrates responsible property development and reduced environmental impact – benefiting both guests and the city as a whole.
Four Points Flex Horsens has achieved DGNB Gold certification as part of the wider Recharge City development in Horsens, which has also been awarded DGNB Gold certification. The certification recognizes holistic solutions across areas including environmental performance, economic sustainability, and social responsibility, providing a clear seal of quality for both the building and its operations.
“This is an important milestone for us in Horsens. DGNB Gold is about more than just green ambitions – it is about documented choices that work in practice. For our guests, it means a hotel stay where comfort and responsibility go hand in hand,” says Peter Haaber, CEO of Core Hospitality.
Sustainability as Part of Everyday Hotel Operations
Four Points Flex Horsens is working systematically to translate the certification into concrete routines and choices in its daily operations. These include:
- Waste sorting in common areas, making it easy for guests to separate waste during their stay.
- Packaging return programs with suppliers to reduce waste.
- Reuse and donation of furniture and equipment instead of disposal whenever items can still be used.
- Reduced plastic consumption through soap and shampoo dispensers and fewer individually packaged products.
- Efforts to reduce food waste, including collaboration with Too Good To Go and improved planning in the breakfast restaurant.
- Environmentally certified laundries and cleaning products, as well as dosing solutions that reduce overconsumption.
- Continuous focus on energy efficiency through monitoring and management of water, heating, and electricity consumption.
“Sustainability should be tangible in practice. That is why we focus on initiatives such as waste sorting, reducing plastic consumption, and minimizing food waste. Together, these efforts make a real difference for guests, employees, and the environment,” says Sebina Christiansen, Project Coordinator at Core Hospitality.
With the DGNB Gold certification, Recharge City and Four Points Flex Horsens strengthen their position as a modern choice for travelers, businesses, and event organizers seeking quality backed by documented responsibility and care.
