EnviTec Opens New Bio-LNG Filling Station in Holdorf
EnviTec Biogas AG opened a new bio-LNG filling station in Holdorf, Lower Saxony, in May. With this expansion of its filling station network, the company aims to respond to increasing logistics volumes and simultaneously promote the use of climate-friendly propulsion systems. The site is located near the A1 motorway and the B214 federal highway and utilizes the existing infrastructure of a truck stop.
As an integrated provider, EnviTec covers the entire value chain of biomethane and bio-LNG, according to the company – from production and liquefaction to marketing through its subsidiary LIQVIS. The Holdorf station can store up to 30,000 kilograms of LNG. Two pumps allow for the simultaneous refueling of two trucks. The company states that the use of 100 bio-LNG trucks could save approximately 20,000 tons of CO₂ annually.
Ralph Borgmann, Managing Director of Paul Schockemöhle Logistics GmbH, explained that the company is currently significantly expanding the proportion of LNG-powered tractor units in its fleet. In addition to the climate benefits, the price stability of bio-LNG and its regional availability at the Holdorf location are particularly decisive factors.
