H2med Welcomes 40 New Members
The H2med Alliance is growing rapidly: 40 new members were admitted at a meeting in Berlin, bringing the initiative's total number to 49 partners from the entire hydrogen value chain. The goal is to promote international trade in hydrogen and advance the development of the H2med corridor between Portugal, Spain, France, and Germany.
Political support came from high-level representatives from the member states and the European Commission. They emphasized the strategic importance of H2med as Europe's "energy highway." Key infrastructure projects such as the CelZa (Portugal-Spain) and BarMar (Spain-France) pipelines are receiving EU funding to accelerate cross-border cooperation.
In the coming months, the alliance plans to intensify its work, establish working groups, and strengthen dialogue between companies, policymakers, and industry. This will create a clear roadmap for implementation that ensures economic viability and market development. The initiative follows the joint statement by President Emmanuel Macron and Chancellor Friedrich Merz, who reaffirmed the rapid development of the H2med corridor as a priority of the European economic agenda.
