Jade Energy Launched in Wilhelmshaven to Advance Energy Security and Decarbonization

Jade Energy today announces its launch as the new platform advancing the development one of Germany’s most strategically located energy import terminals and green energy hubs. The Green Energy Hub LNG terminal project will be the first component of the Hub to be delivered, establishing a transition hub that strengthens energy security today while enabling a gradual shift to green energy over time. The project is designed as a multi-energy hub, enabling the large-scale import of LNG and e-NG, with the flexibility to handle future green energy imports such as hydrogen, and directly connected to Germany’s national gas grid, rail network, and emerging green energy infrastructure including hydrogen.

Located at Germany’s only deep-water port, the project provides direct access to key infrastructure and positions it as an important entry point into German and European energy networks. The Green Energy Hub will connect to natural gas and rail infrastructure, as well as future planned hydrogen and CO2 infrastructure.

The Project is progressing through permitting and development. It will play a role in strengthening’ Europe's energy supply while supporting the decarbonisation of industrial sectors.

Raf Vermeyen, Managing Director of Jade Energy, said: “This project has always been central to our strategy in Germany. Jade Energy reflects the scale of our ambition and our continued commitment to deliver a key piece of infrastructure that supports both energy security and decarbonisation.”
