Verbio and Transgourmet Open New BioCNG Filling Station in Riedstadt
Verbio SE and food wholesaler and logistics company Transgourmet opened a new BioCNG filling station in Riedstadt, Hesse at the end of June. With this location, the companies are expanding the infrastructure for climate-friendly logistics in the Rhine-Main region.
The filling station is located on Transgourmet's operating premises, where around 40 CNG trucks are already in use. This ensures a high baseline utilization according to the company. At the same time, the facility is also available to external users and is intended to promote the use of biomethane in regional freight transport.
Verbio produces the biomethane used from agricultural residues and, according to the company, covers the entire value chain from production to fuel supply. By expanding the filling station network, the availability of climate-friendly fuels in heavy goods transport is to be further improved.
Claus Sauter, CEO of Verbio, emphasized that heavy goods transport can already make an important contribution to climate protection today. A prerequisite for this is reliable fuel supply and further expansion of the corresponding infrastructure.
