Bastian Buus After NLS3 at Nürburgring: "We're Nearly Ready"

The Danish Porsche driver finished seventh in the third round of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie and now looks ahead to final preparations before the 24-hour race.

Bastian Buus is becoming a seasoned competitor on the long and infamous Nürburgring Nordschleife, where he completed another round of the NLS championship this past weekend. His participation in the Nürburgring series is part of the build-up to next month’s world-famous 24-hour race on the German circuit. Buus will compete in the Pro class with Dinamic GT, tasked with helping Porsche in the fight for overall victory.

"We had a really productive weekend, where the main objective was to gather more data and give two of my teammates, Joel Sturm and Loek Hartog, the chance to gain more experience on the track," said Bastian Buus. "We have Pirelli as a partner on the project, and since tire choice is open in the NLS, it allowed us to test various new compounds for the 24-hour race – and that went very well this weekend."

With three NLS rounds under their belt, Buus and the Dinamic GT team are now ready for the final and most crucial phase of preparation. On May 24–25, the team will enter the ADAC 24h Qualifiers – two four-hour races serving as the final major shakedown ahead of the 24 Hours of Nürburgring on June 21–22. Buus will share the car with Matteo Cairoli, Joel Sturm, and Loek Hartog.

"It’s a long process, but a necessary one, as the Nürburgring 24 Hours is extremely complex," Buus explained. "It can be freezing cold, blazing hot, foggy, or rainy – and sometimes all of that at once. The track is so long that you can have monsoon rain on one part and dry weather on another. That means we have to be ready for anything."

Next up for Bastian Buus is this week’s official test ahead of another endurance classic – the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps on June 28–29. The Dane will also race in the Pro class with Dinamic GT, sharing his Porsche 911 GT3 R with Hypercar stars Matt Campbell and Mathieu Jaminet.
