Bastian Buus Joins Porsche Pro Lineup for 24 Hours of Spa
A huge opportunity awaits the Danish Porsche driver, who will compete in this year’s 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps alongside two of the brand’s fastest stars in the Pro class.
It’s shaping up to be a wild summer for Bastian Buus. In addition to his participation in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, he’s also been tasked with helping Porsche pursue victory in another legendary race: the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. The two famous endurance events are scheduled just one week apart in June, but that doesn’t faze the former Porsche Supercup champion.
“This is fantastic news, and of course I’m completely ready to take on the challenge! Nürburgring one weekend and Spa the next — that sounds perfect to me. These are two iconic races that both manufacturers and drivers dream of winning, and getting the assignment from Porsche with such a professional lineup is an enormous privilege for me,” says Bastian Buus.
The Danish factory driver has previously competed in the Belgian 24-hour race once before, in 2021, when he entered with Allied-Racing in the Silver Cup class. This time, however, the stakes are higher, as Buus will race in the top-tier Pro class — and share his Dinamic GT-run Porsche 911 GT3 R with top drivers Matt Campbell and Mathieu Jaminet, both seasoned Porsche works drivers and race winners in the brand’s Hypercar program in the WEC and IMSA series.
“This is a huge opportunity — not only to race in what could be one of the favorites to win, but also to learn from two very experienced and skilled teammates. I was given the assignment on relatively short notice, but I know the car, I know the team, and I know the track — so I’m just excited to get started and be as well-prepared as possible,” the Dane adds.
This year’s edition of the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps will take place on June 28–29. Preparations begin next week with the official prologue, where all teams are invited to a two-day test session.
