Sebastian Øgaard Targets New GTWC Podiums at Misano

Audi driver Sebastian Øgaard is ready to continue his strong performance as the GT World Challenge Europe heads into its sixth round, having already secured four podium finishes so far this season.

Following a disappointing 24-hour race at Spa-Francorchamps – where technical issues prevented the team from seeing the checkered flag – Øgaard and the Tresor Competition squad are determined to bounce back with another top result at Misano.

There is plenty of reason for optimism. Alongside teammates Leonardo Moncini and Riccardo Cazzaniga, the Danish driver has already stood on the podium four times in the European GT3 championship – most recently in early June, when the trio claimed third place in the six-hour race at Monza.

“It’ll be great to get back on track after a difficult weekend at Spa that didn’t go our way,” says Sebastian Øgaard. “I’m hoping we can carry over the pace we’ve shown throughout the season and keep building on the strong weekends we’ve had so far. Another podium or two would be a great result.”

“It’s been a few years since I last raced at Misano, so I’ve spent quite a bit of time in the simulator preparing. The team has good experience there too – they even won the opening round of the Italian GT Championship at Misano – so I feel well prepared and really looking forward to getting started.”

Round six of the GT World Challenge Europe – which also serves as the third round of the Sprint Cup – takes place on Saturday, July 19, and Sunday, July 20, with race starts scheduled for 20:15 and 14:45 (CEST), respectively. Øgaard and Moncini will compete in the Gold Cup class. Both races will be streamed live on YouTube.
