Press release -
Port of Gothenburg and Castellum to build new logistics building for Vink Esså Plast Group at Halvorsäng
The Port of Gothenburg and Castellum are continuing the development of the expanding logistics area Halvorsäng in Gothenburg and are now constructing a new building of 8,667 sqm, half of which will be leased by plastics company Vink Esså Plast Group AB. The project is carried out within the framework of the joint company through which the parties are developing Halvorsäng.
“With direct access to the Port of Gothenburg and the Nordic region’s most comprehensive maritime and inland transport network, Halvorsäng offers something unique in the Swedish logistics market. Its strategic location has led many companies to establish their Nordic central warehouses in the surrounding area, and we are now pleased to welcome Vink to that community,” says Jill Söderwall, Vice President Business Areas at the Port of Gothenburg.
The long-term establishment involves a 10-year lease agreement with preliminary occupancy scheduled for 1 September 2026. The property is a new development within Halvorsäng Logistics Park, located just a stone’s throw from the quays of the largest port in the Nordic region.
“We are very pleased to welcome Vink to Halvorsäng. Their choice of the area strengthens both the development and our joint investment together with Port of Gothenburg. Halvorsäng is now taking shape as a modern logistics area close to the port and key transport routes,” says Örjan Rystedt, Regional CEO of Castellum West.
Vink Esså Plast Group AB is a leading wholesaler of semi-finished plastic products and plastic articles.
“For us, Halvorsäng is exactly the right location. The new premises provide us with modern conditions to continue growing, streamline our flows, and develop the business in the long term. At the same time, proximity to the Port of Gothenburg offers a clear advantage for both us and our customers,” says Vink’s CEO, Reijo Antero Asikainen.
The building will be a new addition to Halvorsäng, where the Port of Gothenburg and Castellum are jointly developing and constructing several buildings on a long-term basis, typically ranging from approximately 10,000 to 50,000 sqm. Parts of the buildings may be up to 35 metres high. When the entire area is completed, the total floor area is expected to amount to approximately 145,000 sqm.
