Peter Wallenberg Jr receives award in Falstaff Nordics Hotel Guide – Grand Hôtel Stockholm awarded top score

Stockholm, 27 May 2026. Peter Wallenberg Jr, Chairman of Grand Hôtel Stockholm, has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award in the first edition of the Falstaff Nordics Hotel Guide. The guide features 1,200 hotels across seven countries, with Grand Hôtel Stockholm receiving the highest possible score and topping the ranking of hotels in Sweden.

Falstaff Nordics yesterday presented the results of its first hotel guide for the Nordic region. The guide recognises hotels across the Nordics, while also celebrating outstanding key figures within the hospitality industry. Peter Wallenberg Jr has been awarded the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award for his work with Grand Hôtel Stockholm and The Grand Group.

Falstaff Nordics’ motivation reads: “Peter Wallenberg Jr has played a defining role in shaping modern luxury hospitality in Sweden. During his time as CEO of Grand Hôtel Stockholm, he led an extensive transformation of the historic building, while preserving its cultural significance. Today, as Chairman of The Grand Group, Wallenberg continues to drive the development of the hotels with a long-term vision and strategic clarity.”

“I receive this award with great gratitude and see it as a recognition of the work and dedication of all our employees. To me, Grand Hôtel Stockholm is more than a hotel – it is an important meeting place for people and conversations, and an important place for both Stockholm and Sweden. That makes it especially meaningful to see the hotel continue to maintain the highest quality at an international level,” says Peter Wallenberg Jr.

The Falstaff Nordics Hotel Guide includes 1,200 hotels across Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The hotels are evaluated and scored across six categories: ambience, rooms, wellness, service, culinary experiences and location. In total, a hotel can receive up to 100 points across all categories. Falstaff’s ranking is complemented by a vote together with independent experts. Grand Hôtel Stockholm was awarded the highest possible score, making it the top-ranked hotel in Sweden.

“It is a great honour for Grand Hôtel Stockholm to receive the highest possible score, a recognition we proudly share with our employees. Their exceptional work in upholding the highest quality and standards across all our offerings is a crucial part of this achievement,” says Pia Djupmark, CEO of Grand Hôtel Stockholm.

Peter Wallenberg Jr’s Falstaff Nordics Lifetime Achievement Award is one of several prestigious accolades recently awarded to Grand Hôtel Stockholm. Earlier this year, Pia Djupmark, CEO of Grand Hôtel Stockholm, received Di Weekend’s Lifetime Achievement Award for Årets Affärskrog. In 2025, Grand Hôtel Stockholm also became the only hotel in Sweden to be awarded two MICHELIN Keys by the MICHELIN Guide. The hotel has also been featured in both the Condé Nast Traveler Gold List and Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards, with the latter naming Grand Hôtel Stockholm the best hotel in Scandinavia.

The Falstaff Nordics Hotel Guide is available on Falstaff’s website.
