The Tourism and Hospitality Vocations’ Round Table features Haaga-Helia

Haaga-Helia UAS/Haaga-Helia Hospitality Competence Center in Estonia participated on November 5 at the Tourism and Hos

pitality Vocations’ Round Table held by the Association of Estonian Tourism Education (ETHL). Beside the education providers participated the employers from the industry along with the umbrella organizations.

The overall outline of the vocations in question was provided and after that discussions were held in order to map the bottlenecks along with the possible solutions.

Association of Estonian Tourism Education (ETHL) has been founded in 2007 and Ain Hinsberg was a member of the preparation and launching team then. Today the association has 18 members – 15 institutions providing tourism and hospitality education and 3 individual members.

    Haaga-Helia Hospitality Competence Center in Estonia arranged study visit to Finland for Association of Estonian Tourism Education during October 7–9. HHHCCE also supported the visit by leading the group, done by Maria Velez and Ain Hinsberg. The delegation of 14 visited Haaga-Helia campuses in Porvoo, Pasila and Haaga, Helmi College, Haaga Restaurant School, Haaga-Perho and Edupoli.

  • Haaga-Helia joins Estonian Hotel and Restaurant Association

    Haaga-Helia Hospitality Competence Centre in Estonia / Haaga-Helia UAS has become a member of the Estonian Hotel and Restaurant Association as of today. The Estonian Hotel and Restaurant Association is a representative organisation of employers that is public, voluntary and operates on democratic principles. The Estonian Hotel and Restaurant Association was established on 12 February 1992.

  • Haaga-Helia Tallinn represented at ENPI cooperation negotiations

    Ain Hinsberg from Haaga-Helia, participated at the cooperation negotiations of the Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences held on August 20. The issues discussed were related to the next funding period of the The European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI) targeted at the cooperation of Finnish regions with Russia.

  • Finnish Food Tourism develops in Estonia

    Finnish food & Tourism experiences shared in Estonia Haaga-Helia has been developing Finnish food tourism alongside the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and Finpro/Visit Finland from the year 2012. Now the development is widening to the other side of the Gulf of Finland - with the contribution of BOSS (From Borders to Shared Space) project.

  • BOSS-funded project Culinary Gulf of Finland continued with example cases in Helsinki

    ​The BOSS From Borders to Shared Space program fund, among other projects run by Haaga-Helia, is supporting the development of Estonian food tourism in the project Culinary Gulf of Finland, which had its third workshop held on November 20th in Helsinki as the pre-event activity of the Martinmarkkinat fair held on 21-22.11.

  • 25 years of Tourest travel fair in Estonia

    Haaga-Helia Hospitality Competence Centre in Estonia celebrated the 25 years of Tourest travel fair (1991-2016) in Estonia with pitching in in three projects run by the Estonian Travel and Tourism Association, the organizer of the fair.

    Haaga-Helia was represented at Estonian Hotel and Restaurant Association General Assembly on 03.03 at Nordic Hotel Forum in Tallinn in a twofold format - Haaga-Helia Senior Lecturer Pasi Tuominen delivered a presentation on the trends impacting the hospitality / Haaga-Helia Hospitality Competence Centre in Estonia was represented by its team among the event participants and an information stand.
