Haaga-Helia joins Estonian Hotel and Restaurant Association

Haaga-Helia Hospitality Competence Centre in Estonia / Haaga-Helia UAS has become a member of the Estonian Hotel and Restaurant Association as of today.

The Estonian Hotel and Restaurant Association is a representative organisation of employers that is public, voluntary and operates on democratic principles.

The Estonian Hotel and Restaurant Association was established on 12 February 1992. 176 companies or associations of companies, incl. 17 schools that teach hotel and catering specialties, belong to the Association - ca. 27% of all accommodation rooms in Estonia and ca. 64% of all accommodation rooms in Tallinn are members of the Association. The largest companies that provide accommodation services are also members of the Association.

The Estonian Hotel and Restaurant Association is a founding member of the Estonian Employers Confederation, and has also been a member of HOTREC (Trade Association of Hotels, Restaurants and Cafés in the European Union) since 1993.

  • Hospitality Insiders Club Estonia was succesfully launched

    ​The Hospitality Insiders Club Estonia was successfully launched on Wednesday 23rd September in the beautiful facilities of Palace Hotell, Tallinn. There were 23 professionals to prove the historical starting moment of a new kind of network of Estonian hospitality managers. The Hospitality Insiders Club's idea is to bring new ideas and tools to club members' daily work as well as share.

    Haaga-Helia/HHHCCE sponsored and was present at the SAUCE2015 event - a new type of business forum and social event for restaurant professionals with a passion for excellence targeting chefs, artisans, farmers, drinks people, managers, entrepreneurs, visionaries, service experts, commercial wizards, food geeks, wine lovers, etc.

  • Haaga-Helia Hospitality Competence Center in Estonia participated at X National Tourism Conference

    Sven Lööndre and Ain Hinsberg were invited by the organizers - Estonian Travel and Tourism Association and Enterprise Estonia/Estonian Tourist Board - to participate at the traditional national tourism conference in Estonia held for the 10th time. This time the event was held in Pärnu on September 17-18 at the newly re-opened Estonia Resort Hotel & Spa conference center.

  • HHHCCE celebrated World Tourism Day with Seminar

    HHHCCE celebrated the World Tourism Day on September 25th with a seminar “Impact is Imminent” held at EBS. The event was co-arranged with Estonian Travel and Tourism Association and Association of Estonian Tourism Education. About 60 participants representing mostly the public and educational sectors related to hospitality and tourism in Estonia.

  • Haaga-Helia in Estonia Supported Receptionist of the Year 2015 Competition

    On the 7th of October „The Receptionist of the Year 2015“ competition was held in Tallinn at Tallinnhotels Hotel Palace. 13 hotels from Tallinn were represented by their best talents in order to reach the highest prize – becoming the best receptionist in Estonia this year.

  • Association of Estonian Tourism Education visits Finland in study mission

    Haaga-Helia Hospitality Competence Center in Estonia arranged study visit to Finland for Association of Estonian Tourism Education during October 7–9. HHHCCE also supported the visit by leading the group, done by Maria Velez and Ain Hinsberg. The delegation of 14 visited Haaga-Helia campuses in Porvoo, Pasila and Haaga, Helmi College, Haaga Restaurant School, Haaga-Perho and Edupoli.

  • From Borders to Shared Space - BOSS Project Supports Development of Estonian Food Tourism

    BOSS From Borders to Shared Space program funds among other projects run by Haaga-Helia Supporting Development of Estonian Food Tourism, which had its first workshop held on October 8th in Tallinn. Up to 20 key food, tourism and food tourism stakeholders were convened at FoodStudio under the title „Strategic Context of Food Tourism“.

  • Culinary Gulf of Finland, a BOSS-funded project, observed under an entrepreneurial angle.

    ​The BOSS From Borders to Shared Space program fund, among other projects run by Haaga-Helia, is supporting the development of Estonian food tourism in the project Culinary Gulf of Finland, which had its second workshop held on October 30th in Tallinn within the the 16th Tallinn FoodFair (TFF). Around 20 food, tourism and food tourism entrepreneurs and other stakeholders convened at the fair.

  • Garage48 StartUp Pitching welcomes Haaga-Helia in their mentoring team

    ​Haaga-Helia UAS/Haaga-Helia Hospitality Competence Center in Estonia participated on November 11 at the Garage48 StartUp Pitching event held at the Estonian Tech Startup headquarters in order to prepare the teams participating at the actual event taking place in Pärnu on November 13-15 .

  • The Tourism and Hospitality Vocations’ Round Table features Haaga-Helia

    Haaga-Helia UAS/Haaga-Helia Hospitality Competence Center in Estonia participated on November 5 at the Tourism and Hospitality Vocations’ Round Table held by the Association of Estonian Tourism Education (ETHL). Beside the education providers participated the employers from the industry along with the umbrella organizations.

  • Latvia, next in Haaga-Helia's radar?

    ​Ain Hinsberg was invited by the ​Latvian Hotel and Restaurant Association to participate on behalf of Haaga-Helia UAS/Haaga-Helia Hospitality Competence Center in Estonia. The event was held on November 17th, at the associations annual conference in Riga. Hinsberg's role was to present Haaga-Helia's activities in Estonia and the options for launching some similar ones in Latvia.
