The finals in Lenzerheide saw one of the most successful seasons in HEAD's history draw to a close. With seven World Championship Gold medals, one overall World Cup Crystal Globe and four World Cup discipline Crystal Globes, as well as 19 World Cup victories, the HEAD World Cup Rebels delivered a unique class of performance.
Alexis Pinturault gave himself two very special presents for his 30th birthday on Saturday. Following his victory in the final Giant Slalom in Lenzerheide, the HEAD World Cup Rebel secured not only the World Cup in this discipline, but also the Crystal Globe as the overall winner of the World Cup for the first time in his career.
All the speed events - both the Downhill competitions on Wednesday and the Super-G races on Thursday - had to be cancelled at the final of the World Cup in Lenzerheide due to the weather conditions. It’s been quite a weekend for the HEAD Freeski team. Friday started off with halfpipe finals in the FIS World Championships in Aspen where Zoe Atkin was awarded a bronze medal for her clean and technical runs. At the FWT Stop in Fieberbrunn Hedvig Wessel was awarded with the 2nd best score of the day, as well as Carl Regnér went for a full throttle big mountain line and became 3rd.
One week after her third place in the Slalom in Jasna, Wendy Holdener again made the podium in the second Slalom event in Aare on Saturday. The Swiss athlete finished in third place to celebrate her 27th podium finish in this discipline.
The HEAD World Cup Rebels demonstrated their world-class form in style in Saalbach-Hinterglemm: In the Downhill event on Saturday Vincent Kriechmayr, Beat Feuz, and Matthias Mayer celebrated an awesome triple victory for the HEAD team. In the Super-G on Sunday, Vincent Kriechmayr again raced to the podium in third place.
Lara Gut-Behrami continues her run of success following the World Championships. The double World Champion won both Downhill races on Friday and Saturday in Val di Fassa to celebrate her first two victories in the discipline this season. On Sunday she finished in second place to secure the Crystal Globe in the Super-G this season.
Two golds and a bronze for the HEAD athletes when Freeride World Tour kicked off its 2021 season in Andorra. Two of the originally planned stops, Japan and Canada, had to be cut out due to COVID but when everything finally started, it went off with a bang. Two separate “stops” on the same face in Ordino Arcalis, Andorra, ended with both highs and lows for the HEAD riders.

A perfect start for the HEAD World Cup Rebels at the World Championships in Cortina: In the women's Super-G on Thursday, Lara Gut-Behrami won her first World Championship Gold. Finishing just behind the Swiss athlete, her compatriot and HEAD team-mate Corinne Suter secured Silver. A few hours later Vincent Kriechmayr followed up with Gold in the men's Super-G.
The last two races before the World Championships in Cortina were held in Garmisch-Partenkirchen this weekend. Austria's speed rebels Vincent Kriechmayr and Matthias Mayer sealed a HEAD double victory in the Super-G on Saturday.

The HEAD athlete finished second in the Giant Slalom in Kronplatz, finishing among the top three in three different disciplines within four days. In a spectacular Downhill event on Friday, the HEAD World Cup Rebels celebrated a double victory with Beat Feuz and Matthias Mayer. That result was topped in the second Downhill race on Sunday with triple success by Beat Feuz, Johan Clarey and Matthias Mayer. And then it was Vincent Kriechmayr winning the Super-G on Monday who rounded off a flawless HEAD weekend in Kitzbühel.
Alexis Pinturault is back on the podium in the Slalom as well. Following his Giant Slalom fest in Adelboden last weekend, the French athlete finished third in the Slalom in Flachau on Sunday to bag his first podium finish in this discipline this season.
The Giant Slalom doesn't get much better than this. Alexis Pinturault won both races on Friday and Saturday in impressive style on the Chuenisbärgli run in Adelboden.
