Hedin Automotive Switzerland Partners with Tour de Suisse, Connecting Passion and Joy

Hedin Automotive, the second largest BMW & MINI dealership partner in the Switzerland, is thrilled to announce its role as the official Car Partner for the Tour de Suisse 2023. The Tour de Suisse, spanns 1300 km over 8 stages and 8 days for men, and 4 days for women in stunning landscape. With the participation of 42 professional cycling teams, it promises to once again be one of the sporting highlights of the year.

- Joy is what drives us. It gives us energy and pushes us to surpass ourselves. Joy is passion. And passion connects Hedin Automotive with the Tour de Suisse and all the athletes. As the second largest BMW & MINI dealership group in Switzerland, we are very pleased to accompany the Tour de Suisse 2023 as official Car Partner and make joy tangible on the road," said Markus Schwingel, CEO of Hedin Automotive Switzerland.

Throughout the race, a fleet of BMW vehicles will be available to the directors and race commissioners, and others will be used as VIP cars, including the fully electric BMW iX with a range of up to 633 km. Two MINI and an INEOS Grenadier will accompany the Tour in a convoy, delivering delightful surprises to the audience at every turn.

- When selecting the accompanying vehicles, we paid attention to the requirements of the race commission, as the accompanying vehicles must not exceed a height of 1.66 meters. On the other hand, the aspect of sustainability and CO2 reduction was also important to us, which is why half of the BMW fleet is fully electric or equipped with a plug-in hybrid drive, adds Schwingel.

The first stage of the men's race starts on June 11 and ends in Einsiedeln, just a few kilometers from Hedin Automotive´s dealership in Samstagern. After around 1100 km, the Tour de Suisse for men ends on June 20 with a time trial in Abtwil, very close to St. Gallen, where Hedin Automotive has established a presence since September 2022 (Alpina Group St. Gallen).

- The Tour de Suisse fits Hedin Automotive like spokes in a wheel, concludes Schwingel, who is himself is an avid cyclist. We wish all athletes an exciting and competitive race, while extending joy to the dedicated organisers during this final stretch of preparations. We are excited about the partnership and look forward to many great encounters before, during, and after the races.

According to Sandro Poltera of the Tour de Suisse association, Hedin Automotive's ambitious growth strategy in Switzerland aligns perfectly with the vision of the Tour de Suisse.

- Hedin Automotive is an ideal fit for the Tour de Suisse. Together, we will promote electric mobility within the realm of professional cycling, and we are already celebrating initial successes in 2023. This partnership represents another significant step towards a Tour de Suisse equipped with complete e-mobility solutions. We are thrilled to have Hedin Automotive's support as a partner, says Poltera.
