Hedin Automotive strengthens its Position as One of the Largest BMW- and MINI-Dealers in Switzerland with the Acquisition of H.P. Schmid AG

Hedin Automotive AG in Switzerland has entered into an agreement to acquire the BMW dealer H.P. Schmid AG’s operations located in the northern Zürich area, further strengthening the company's position as the second largest BMW and MINI dealer in Switzerland.

Hedin Automotive made a significant move in 2022 by acquiring Alpina Group with its dealerships in St. Gallen, Widnau and Chur. The acquisition positioned the group as the second largest BMW and MINI dealer in the country. As part of their continued efforts to expand, Hedin Automotive has now entered into an agreement acquire H.P. Schmid, located just north of Zurich.

H.P. Schmid is a family-owned and operated dealership with a rich legacy that was founded by Hans Peter and Pius Schmid. With a team of 41 dedicated and skilled employees, the company has built an impressive reputation for delivering exceptional service to customers in the region. The dealership offers a wide selection of new and pre-owned BMW, as well as service, parts and accessories for BMW and MINI cars. Additionally, H.P. Schmid has a full body- and paint workshop.

Following the acquisition of H.P. Schmid’s operations, Hedin Automotive will be representing BMW and MINI from seven locations in Switzerland.

A significant partner for BMW in Europe

Hedin Mobility Group's BMW division, operating under the trademarks Hedin Automotive and Bavaria, has grown rapidly in recent years. Today the Group is one of Europe's largest dealers of BMW and MINI. Earlier this month, the company completed the acquisition of three dealerships in Sweden, and following the acquisitions of H.P. Schmid, Hedin Mobility Group will represent BMW and MINI at over 40 dealerships in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Switzerland.
