Gothenburg best logistics location in Sweden

For the 14th year in succession, Gothenburg has been named the best logistics location in Sweden by the industry journal Intelligent Logistik. The deciding factors are that it has the largest port in the Nordic Region for both imports and exports, direct deep-sea services and the short distance from the import harbour to the warehouse.

"I am extremely proud of the award. To be named the best logistics location in Sweden again in 2015 is a further confirmation of our prominent position in Scandinavia," says Magnus Kårestedt, CEO Port of Gothenburg.

Apart from being the largest port in the Nordic Region, Gothenburg also has a wide range of advanced logistics training programmes, an international airport and a sustainable, multifaceted infrastructure.

"Last year we invested a great deal on the logistics and property side, one example is the large import warehouse we built for DB Schenker. Hence it is particularly pleasing that the citation also includes the short distance from the import harbour to the warehouse, which results in low logistics costs," says Magnus Kårestedt.

The ranking is based on geographical location, sustainability in the logistics infrastructure, establishment of logistics facilities, academic education, access to labour, business climate and price and access to logistics and warehousing space.

The list of the best logistics locations in Sweden has been published since 2001, the first three years by the industry journal Inköp och Logistik before they handed it over to Intelligent Logistik.
