Radon High on the Agenda at European Conferences

Over the next few months, Radonova will be represented at a number of key industry events as experts meet to discuss the latest trends and solutions in the field of radon. After months of in-person events not being permitted, the Summer of 2022 is shaping up to be an exciting time for the company with several key events taking place.

From 27-29 September in Bergen, Radonova will be participating at the annual meeting of the European Radon Association (ERA). Over the two days the ERA will hold a workshop, its AGM and Radon Outcomes On Mitigation Solutions (ROOMS). Experts from across Europe will be in attendance including scientists, technologists, public health officials and decision makers working in the radon field. Topics covered will include remediation and prevention construction technologies to control strategies and regulation.

“We’re all very excited to get the opportunity to meet up with colleagues and discuss the latest research results and experiences with radon in a face-to-face environment. The event provides a unique opportunity to collaborate and get the latest insights into where we need to prioritise, both nationally and globally”, said Radonova’s José-Luis Gutiérrez Villanueva, Secretary of the ERA.

EURADOS (20-24 June) in Belgrade is another event Radonova will be attending. This is the annual conference of the European Radiation Dosimetry Group. The number of attendees is expected to be between 300-400. EURADOS’s key objectives are to increase the scientific understanding of the dosimetry of ionising radiation, to foster the technical development of dosimetric methods and instrumentation and their implementation in routine dosimetry, and to harmonise the dosimetric procedures used within the EU and their conformance with international practices. Radonova is a voting member of this group.

Earlier in June, Radonova will be attending Indoor Air 2022 (12-16 June), which takes place at the University of Eastern Finland on the Kuopio campus. The motto of the conference is “healthy people in healthy indoor environments”. Themes covered will include health outcomes, exposures, sources and dynamics of the exposing agents, new materials and development of analytical tools and sustainability of buildings. It is expected to attract between 300-400 people. At the conference, Radonova’s José-Luis Gutiérrez Villanueva will be hosting a 1.5 hour workshop where he will be presenting on the basics of radon measurements.

Finally, from 27-30 June, Radonova will be participating at the 10th International Conference on High Level Environmental Radiation Areas which takes place in Strasbourg. It is a well-established conference which focuses on high level radiation areas, with radon being one of the multiple topics under discussion.
