    Live web cast of opera rehearsals in "The Stockholm Cimarosa Project"

    Tonight, May 2, at 9:30 PM, the first part of a live web cast in "The Stockholm Cimarosa Project" will be web casted by U-Sophia for the Drottningholms Slottsteater's new opera production "Il matrimonio segreto". The web cast includes a meeting with Stage Director Deda Cristina Colonna and the theater's Artistic Director and Conductor Mark Tatlow.

    The Magic Flute played at Drottningholms Slottsteater this summer

    Drottningholms Slottsteater hosts one of the highlights of the Baltic Sea Festival in August. Through a partnership with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Mozart's The Magic Flute will be presented in a fully staged performance created by director Daniel Harding and tenor Andrew Staples. This production was previously presented at the prestigious Lucerne festival in Switzerland.

    This year's opera festival at the Drottningholm Court Theatre, outside Stockholm, offers two new opera productions as well as many exciting events, performances and concerts. The two opera productions the coming season are "Il matrimonio segreto" (1792) by Domenico Cimarosa and W.A. Mozart's "La Clemenza di Tito" (1791).

    The Drottningholm Court Theatre is participating in the Baltic Sea Festival, this year held August 23-30, as a part of a new collaboration between the concert hall Berwaldhallen and the festival. Sofi Lerström, CEO of Drottningholm Court Theatre, will present the coming projects at the launch breakfast for the Baltic Sea Festival on March 15, at Berwaldhallen concert hall in Stockholm.

    Drottningholm Court Theatre's set designer Ann-Margret Fyregård has been awarded HM ​​The King's Carl XVI Gustaf's Medal of the 8th size of the bright-blue ribbon, for outstanding contributions as a costume and set designer. The medal was awarded at a ceremony in Queen Lovisa Ulrika's dining room at the Royal Palace in Stockholm, on February 7th 2013.

    Drottningholm Court Theatre's collaboration with national and international contemporary artists began earlier this year with the Swedish artist duo Goldin+Senneby and their performance "Money will be like Dross" about the alchemist August Nordenskiöld. The performance is now followed-up in an international symposium where concepts like financial theater and utopianism will be discussed.

Pop singer Anna Järvinen interprets Marie Antoinette September 21st.

    On the 5th of September 2012 John Cage would have turned 100 years. Joining in on the world-wide celebration of this centennial, Bonniers Konsthall together with Drottningholm Palace Theatre will arrange a concert in honor of his work and influence. It will be an evening that sees both Cage’s compositions and the performers' own music, making it a celebration of Cage – and a celebration of sound.

    The Swedish baritone Peter Mattei has established himself as one of the most sought after singers of his generation. On August 4 and 8 Peter Mattei gives two Mozart concerts at the Drottningholm Court Theatre, with soprano Vivianne Holmberg and the Drottningholm Theatre Orchestra, directed by Mark Tatlow. The concert includes arias from Mozart's Don Giovanni, Le Nozze di Figaro and The Magic Flute

    Summer Calendar of Opera Performances and Concerts at Drottningholms Slottsteater

    This Summer the Drottningholm Slottsteater presents Joseph Haydn's opera Orlando Paladino, directed by Sigrid T'Hooft. In August Peter Mattei sings Mozart in two concerts with the Drottningholm Theatre Orchestra. The popular family performance with The Romeo & Julia Choir of Tobaksladans hemligheter is back. The Romeo & Julia Choir is also presenting Monteverdi, a drama concert for all ages.

    A new production of Haydn’s opera Orlando Paladino at the Drottningholms Slottsteater

    Haydn's opera Orlando Paladino, which will open at the Drottningholms Slottsteater on July 29, is based on the medieval legend of the knight Roland (Orlando), who is madly in love with Angelica, Queen of Cathay. The performance stars Rickard Söderberg, Kirsten Blaise and Pietro Spagnoli, all of whom are internationally known for their interpretation of 18th century opera.
