“Just keep it simple.”

From the very beginning that is the one thing our property caretakers kept making sure to mention when developing the Estate Logs app together. Why? Because complicated property systems that would add time to their work was something they were all too familiar with.

It is so easy for us to get wrapped up in developing our product. We want it to look modern and cool, with colours and animations. We want it to provide our users with infinite possibilities. One app to rule them all. It becomes easy to forget about what the people we are developing the product for really wants.

Erik Sundqvist however, who has worked as a property caretaker for 40 years, does not want or need a fancy app with cool animations. He wants and needs a tool that contains the exact features he needs to perform his work - nothing less and nothing more. A tool that will assist Erik in; 1) organising his work day, 2) reminding him what needs to be done, 3) documenting his work with a single click, ensuring security in his work. This will give him more time to assist and converse with the tenants, the part he enjoys most about his work. This is what will provide Erik with a sustainable work environment.

It’s just that simple.

Only, it’s not. Developing the necessary features needed to enable sustainable property maintenance, while keeping it simple, has been challenging to say the least. What has made this possible are the passionate property caretakers that have continued to patiently develop the Estate Logs app with us. Because of them, our app is now popular with property caretakers all over the country.

It is so important for us to remember that our techy products have to make working with properties easier and not more complicated. They have to enable our users to perform their work more efficiently and with better quality. Because if they don’t, it defeats the purpose of their very existence.

In the latest update of the Estate Logs app we have included some much wanted features for our property caretakers. We are excited to be able to provide our users with more features that will make maintaining properties easier. We will continue to develop our product - while keeping it simple.
