Grand opening of Valkyria
Today was the grand opening of Liseberg’s new record-breaking roller coaster Valkyria. Liseberg’s biggest investment ever will be both the highest and longest dive coaster in Europe – and have the highest drop in Scandinavia of 50 meters. A large number of thrilled guests gathered at 11 AM on August 10, 2018 to watch the ribbon being cut before enjoying their first ride.
Valkyria’s track is now fully assembled
This week, the last section of Valkyria’s track was assembled and the track is now complete. Four roller coaster enthusiasts were invited to sign the track section, together with staff working on Valkyria. The track section was put into place with three flags attached to it; one Polish, one German and one large Swedish flag, representing the different countries and the teams working on Valkyria.
Slik blir Lisebergs nye berg-og-dal-bane
Check out Liseberg’s new rollercoaster!
When Liseberg opens for the season on 22 April, the giant Loke will stand at the ready to do battle with Balder, and the Ancient Norse saga will begin. Nearby, the sequel – Valkyria – is underway. The park has decided what the new rollercoaster will be like, and visitors will be able to experience a sample of it this year.
Legendary investments at Liseberg 2017–2018
During 2017 and 2018 Liseberg will invest around SEK 250 million in new attractions and concepts for the 8,000-square-metre area near Balder. The inspiration comes from Norse myths and legends, and among other things means that Balder will be joined by two new attractions: Loke and Valkyria.
