Pharem wins BlueInvest Award

Pharem wins the BlueInvest Award in the category Circular Economy and Preventing Ocean Pollution. A highly regarded award from EUs own initiative to invest in the Blue Economy.

Chemical pollution of our waters is an increasingly growing concern. Many manmade chemicals such as medicine residues, pesticides ,and plastic chemicals are released to our waters causing great harm to the eco-systems affecting animal populations, general water quality and human health.

Pharem’s enzyme-based treatment technology, Zymatic, presents many opportunities to achieve greener and more sustainable treatment solutions. By combining advanced enzyme- and material development together with immobilization methods, Pharem have created a sand-like material which is easily installed, operated, and give an average low cost of treatment. Using enzymes, Zymatic can tailor its solutions for broad treatment of organic micropollutants in municipalt wastewater treatment plants or precision treatment of unwanted organic compounds an industry process. Enzymes are efficient and the installations becomes more compact than many other technologies. It scales easily to various sizes of installations and suits well for small and medium sized treatment plants.

Pharem were selected as winners with the following nomination: “Pharem´s presentation demonstrated a deep knowledge of their competitive landscape. With a scalable business model, their technology is clearly positioned to fight ocean pollution thanks to a process of natural degradation by enzymes. Through biotechnology, Pharem´s vision is to impact aquatic life by reducing organic pollutants”

“Pharem is on a very interesting journey. We are honoured to receive this validation of the hard work we are putting into solving this environmental challenge.” says Christian Ryen, COO and co-founder of Pharem, presenting at the BlueInvest event. ”We want to thank BlueInvest, the judges and all our colleagues at Pharem. We look forward to continuing the journey and provide easy to use treatment solutions to our customers”.
