Cleaners Day 1/12
Some changes need to be done with pictures to be used so it has a more professional look. We agreed that Mari will create some new pictures of the cleaner and the “hand heart” through AI.
In Finland they are used to arrange a “competition” were anyone can nominate “What´s the main issue within cleaning right now?”. The winner, number 2 and 3 are presented. More attention on the winner of course, but no winning money. We agreed that we should do the same in all countries this year.
Create flags and pins to sell. Important that it wont be any date or year on these, so they can be used years to come.
Create some digital material free to load down and put own name on.
Torben and Sanna intervjued us all last year and we think that´s a good thing also to do this year and get it presented in all the paper magazines. Jytte talks to Torben about this.

Improve the Nordic (NOCC) branding. What can we do better!
On our meeting we have agreed about some issues that are joint for all of us. It´s important that we use NOCC branding together with our local brand and share with each other.
We decided that we are going to create a joint article four times a year and attach in our newsletters. First time is end of August (Sweden), end November (Finland), February (Norway), May (Denmark). The information should reflect what is happening in each Nordic country. Total use of 800 characters. Sent to the “host country” at least one week before it is going live. Sent in English so it´s easy for everyone to translate into own language.
Next meeting for us four is in Oslo 4-6 of February 2026.
Norway has their exhibition in Stavanger 18-20 of March.
Finland has a seminar at Viking Cinderella 28-30 of January and Sweden will try to match this for their Board meeting cruise, so they will get onboard the boat in Stockholm 29th of January.
There is a wish from all the boards to be able to meet. We discussed different suggestions, but we will need to continue this issue later on.

Presentation digitalization system and legal restrictions
Sari informed about the status of the Nordic cleaning vocabulary. Finland has created a first version in pdf and showed some of it on the meeting. Not jet with pictures. Discussion about the importance of anonymously pictures as long it´s possible. The Swedish, Finnish and English version is planned to be ready end this year/beginning 2026. Then also with AI created voice recordings and pictures in a app. Could Norway and Denmark reconsider and join this Nordic vocabulary?
Finland has sent out and acted on a survey with the subject: Why are not digital systems and robotics used in a broader way in cleaning? Sari presented some of the most common answer, see attached PP in Finish.
One of the good things coming out of this is that architects responded positive to the figures and information that can be collected and shared from the cleaning digital systems. To be used in building projects.
It´s important that we raise the awareness of security and sensibility connected to the information collected from digital systems and robotics!
We are quite the same in all Nordic countries regarding who is mainly using digital systems. It´s more common in public sector but starts being used also in the large companies in a smaller dimension. Reason for this is mainly cost, time consuming and knowledge.

Cleaning as a natural part in refurbish projects
Finland organized training for architects on considering cleanability throughout the entire lifecycle of a property and is starting to produce guidance materials for architects regarding cleanability.
Puhtausala ry produces these works related to the topic as graduation projects.
The architects and project leaders for refurbish and/or new building should be interested in the figures and knowledge we can provide for them from the cleaning industry. Both economy and environment benefit.
The terminology for the cleaning industry has now been published in Finnish and English, with Swedish forthcoming. This will help to spread the correct vocabulary and names used within the cleaning industry also to the architects and society in general.
Unfortunately, this is not that common in Sweden. Sometimes in large contracts (FM) where the cleaning company is seen as a part of the customer.
More common in municipalities with cleaning inhouse.
It´s unfortune that´s the way ☹. It would really be a win-win benefit for all parties if we could work together. Most people are convinced that architecture is the one that makes it hard to achieve.
Norway is talking about to attend different exhibitions and fairs where contact can be taken with decisionmakers within this area.
We are convinced that we – to succeed – must get the architects to “believe that our ideas is coming from themselves”.

“Super Cleaner” – children book.
The idea with this is to learn the children to clean and behave, also making cleaning a normal and interesting thing to do. Maybe also an interesting job in the future 😊
Sari showed their material they have already; “Sipi the frog”. Of course, we shall use some of this when we develop our idea with “The Super Cleaner”. But also use AI.
The idea is not only to make books but also learning games in digital format and learning material.
Jytte suggested that we could maybe use “Tvättbjörn” as a character figure?
The Super cleaner should benefit the NOCC brand.
Target group is; public waiting rooms, kindergarten and home in families.
Sari will check with a professor she knows, if some student could take this as a final study.

Successful demands and checkups in public procurement to avoid criminal and frivolous companies
In Sweden we are focusing on the importance of controlling the suppliers’ subcontractors (often in several levels)! Unfortunately, this is a common way to offer lower prices, even though in practice it should cost more the more companies involved ☹
Use of “added value evaluation” as a part of the procurement to reduce the evaluation price.
Make sure that the buying part does a proper checkup and controls the demands in the tender. The supplier must be aware that all the demands will be checked and followed up. Physical require like; “presentation of the tender” and “display of objects” are good.
Some problems, but not a lot, also in Denmark. The union is working actively against this.
In Norway all companies working with cleaning (somehow) must have an approval from the government, which make it harder for criminal companies.
Both in Finland and Norway every cleaner must have an approved card from government (in Norway called; HMS card) showing that you have a basic cleaning knowledge. Otherwise, you can´t work.
In Finland there is “HEUNI”; The European Institute for Crime Prevention and Control (Under the UN flag) which works with controlling companies thoroughly.
Next meetings
Next physical meeting like this is in Oslo and will take place 4-6th of February 2026
