From Nanjing to the World in Real Time

Thanks to the exponential growth of mobile subscription and social networking on home-grown platforms in China, the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games looks set to break records in connectivity and social interaction.

With billions of devices in China and across the world, fans and the media are following them closely to get the Games results instantly from any digital platform. This means that regardless of locations - be in London, Rio, Singapore, Toronto or Moscow - a person can get on his/ her mobile device all results from the day's competitions within a second.

Now, how is this possible?

Atos Business Technologists at our base in Nanjing will make this possible with the integration of different technologies. They will start by automating the recording of data from all competitions, with some of them running simultaneously. Then, they will work closely with the IT partners that provide high speed networks and server infrastructure to store all the data from different competition venues and distribute it to the world via wireless networks, fiber optic cable and satellite. Last but not least, they will make sure that the YOG is not at risk by duplicating systems in case something fails.

At this juncture, our Business Technologists are making the final preparations for the technology that will capture and report every moment of the sporting action, and relay it to accredited media, websites and sports officials for communication worldwide in real time, every time.

Isn't it incredible that billions of people will get immediate access to the results and in so many different ways, regardless of where they are in the world?
