Formex 2026 celebrate traditions with Autumn/Winter edition

Formex continues its 2026 theme Celebrate Traditions with a new seasonal chapter: Autumn/Winter.

After a colourful spring edition filled with Easter tones, tulips and festive summer traditions, the August fair takes on a different mood. This time, visitors are invited into a winter-inspired setting where crisp colours meet warmer, richer elements, combined with cosy atmospheres, playful ideas and space for reflection.

“We want to make the most of the entire year and celebrate the joy that comes with each season. At Formex, we highlight Swedish traditions, craftsmanship and design – while also looking ahead to the future and more sustainable ways of working,” says Sonja Björk Ebert, Project manager for Formex.

A Winter Wonderland experience

This August, Formex creates an immersive Winter Wonderland that begins at the entrance, continues across the entrance square and leads into the passage between Hall A and Hall B.

Visitors move through a calm, almost monochrome white landscape with asymmetrical structures, ice-inspired shapes and reflective materials. The atmosphere is quiet and serene – but behind the minimal surface lies a space designed to reflect openness, creativity and inclusivity.

Three specially built houses form the centrepiece of the installation. From the outside, they appear simple and understated, but inside they reveal vibrant and unexpected environments designed to inspire all visitors.

Three celebrations brought to life

The spaces are created in collaboration with Swedish creative, set designer and interior stylist Eva Andersson. Together with Formex, she has designed three environments inspired by well-known celebrations:

  • A crayfish party
  • A Christmas and New Year’s dinner
  • A winter wedding

Using products from exhibitors, each space offers a new take on familiar traditions, with playful details and surprising design choices.

“I like to challenge expectations and show new perspectives on things we think we already know. Working with these three houses and filling them with tradition and creativity has been incredibly inspiring,” says Eva Andersson.

With experience from international productions and collaborations with brands such as IKEA and Absolut Vodka, Andersson brings a strong visual and creative approach to the project.
