Stylist Jan Rundgren interprets the season's trends and the menu is selected in collaboration with Thomas Andreasson, Chef at Mässrestauranger. Famous Chef Tina Nordström also makes a guest appearance. This is the first time a Guest Chef will compose a dish specifically for Formex.
Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair has invited designer Emma Olbers, interior stylist Susanna Vento and interior stylist Christine Rudolph to create the fair’s Trends Exhibition 2016/17. They will each get to design their own area: the outdoors area, the Teatime & Playtime room and the meeting room, respectively. The theme for all three is Nature is back for good!

Raw materials and waste products from the forest are predicted to become very important to tomorrow’s climate-smart manufacturing. January 20-23, 2016, marks the kick-off for the spring season in the interior design and gifts industry at the trade fair Formex. Visitors will be able to try their hand at shibori - a Japanese coloring technique - and browse through an exhibition dedicated to textile designer, Gunila Axén.
The Jury has now selected the exhibitors who will be showing off their wares in Greenhouse, Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair’s hall for young and up-and-coming designers, in 2016. Haha Sthlm, Maiju Uski and Darling Design are a few of the lucky designers and design studios to be chosen. They all have one thing in common - sustainability in the design process.
Nordic Kicks is the spring theme at Formex, the Nordic region’s largest trade fair for interior design and gifts. The theme will be presented in an inspirational exhibition that has been designed by the design group, Oddbirds. The exhibition contains three spatial environments that have been inspired in part by geometric games, churches and display windows.
For the third consecutive year, Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair is arranging Stockholm Design Talks, the fairs own forum for knowledge and discussions within the area of design. The theme for 2016 is Scandinavia Now, and shines a light on topics and projects that are happening now.
This coming spring’s edition of Young Designers, Formex’s platform for new talent, is set to consist of 21 selected participants from a variety of categories. Below are some of the experimental and ground-breaking products that will be on show, including handicrafts made from iron netting, designs with emotional functionality and shaped, sustainable soap.
This spring’s theme at the Formex interior design and gifts exhibition, Nordic Kicks, approaches our design heritage from several new angles. We design our interiors with a personal touch and a lot of color as well as with warmth and artistic sensitivity. The trend theme can be summarized by the phrase, "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, something given".
At Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, which will be held February 9-13, 2016, the Design Bar and the Design Talks will be designed by architect Andreas Martin-Löf. Under the concept “All the fun of the fair”, he would like to create an evocative atmosphere, miles away from hard wooden chairs and simplicity. The Design Bar will be created in cooperation with award-winning chef Fredrik Eriksson.
Every year Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair invites a highly acclaimed international designer or design studio to create a lounge in Stockholmsmässan’s entrance hall. This year the assignment has gone to British design studio, Barber & Osgerby, who have received international acclaim for their innovative furniture, industrial design and architecture.
Last week, on August 19-22, Formex kickstarted the season for the interior design and gifts industry at Stockholmsmässan. This fall's exhibition was the largest Formex in history in terms of surface area.
“Kyuhyung Cho&Erik Olovsson are awarded Formex Nova for the playful collaboration in their three collections Room, Sine and Numbers. With a fusion of graphic elements and architectural volumes, the creations of these two designers are characterized by contrasts between light and heavy, discipline and playfulness, and 2- and 3-dimensionality, conjuring up a feeling of opposites in perfect balance.”
The interior design fair Formex, August 19-22, is arranging The House Cat Festival to celebrate and explore Nordic craftsmanship. During four days, artisans from every corner of Sweden will be on hand to show us how to bind baskets, embroider, carve wood and weave.
Next week, on August 19, Formex, the Nordic region’s largest trade fair for interior design and gifts, will open its doors at Stockholmsmässan.
