  • The fall season starts at Formex

    Formex, Scandinavia's largest meeting place for interior design, ended this weekend. Over four days, the interior design and gift industry gathered at Stockholmsmässan to place orders for the fall season and view the latest trends.

  • Design and Sustainability at Formex

    At the Formex interior design and gifts fair on 13-16 August, Lotta Ahlvar will be presenting a daily inspirational talk on the theme “Sustainability Trends”. She will be on stage talking to different guests, including fashion designer Lars Wallin, artist Lina Sofia Lundin, and designers Katarina Evans and Katarina Brieditis.

  • Creative power at Formex – stories and memories from different cultures become patterns

    Livstycket is a contemporary knowledge and design center in Tensta, where women from around the world are active. Livstycket’s textile prints will be on display at the Formex interior design and gift fair, August 13–16, and the patterns for print and embroidery will be demonstrated in workshops. Formex will also feature an exhibition of favorites among this spring's design school graduates.

    13. elokuuta Pohjoismaiden johtavana sisustusalan uusien tuotteiden, trendien sekä osaamisen ja inspiraation kohtauspaikkana tunnetuilla Formex-messuilla valitaan vuoden pohjoismainen muotoilija, joka saa Nova Design Award -palkinnon. Palkinto myönnetään nuorelle Pohjoismaissa työskentelevälle muotoilijalle.

    Lisa Bengtsson, Malin Lundmark, Form for you, Sofia Hagelin, Sebastian Kjersén, Kristoffer Fagerström, Simon Key Bertman and Johan Lindsten are some of today’s established designers who started their careers at Young Designers – Formex’s platform for young, unknown designers.

  • Nominees for Nova – Nordic Designer of the Year

    On August 13, Formex will award the Nova Design Award – Nordic Designer of the Year for the fourth consecutive year. The award will go to a young designer working in the Nordic region who has been selected by an expert jury. The nominees this year are:

  • Round forms, clean lines and playfulness at Formex

    People are talking about a second wave and rebirth of design rooted in the Scandinavian design of the 1950s. Soft Nordic will be this fall’s trend theme at Formex, August 13–16. The style is pure and clean, with rounded shapes, exclusive materials and a playful look.

  • A festival for anyone who loves design

    4 February sees the opening of the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, the world’s biggest meeting place for Scandinavian furniture and light design, at Stockholmsmässan. On Saturday 8 February, members of the public with an interest in design are also welcome to see the latest developments in furniture and lighting.

  • Soon time for the design event of the year

    Soon we will be in the 6th week of the year, a week that has become synonymous with Stockholm Design Week. Many of the world's best in furniture and lighting will be in Stockholm to check out the latest in Scandinavian design at Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair. With the trade fair at the middle of it all, the entire city buzzes with around 60 events, installations and parties.

  • The fall edition of Young Designers and Next Step at Formex

    Many of today's established designers have had their breakthrough after exhibiting at Young Designers, Formex's platform for young, up-and-coming designers. In addition to Young Designers, Formex also has Next Step, which is for exhibitors that have come a little further along in their establishment phase. Young Designers is being organized for the eleventh time and Next Step for the seventh time.

    Eclecticism, Formalism, Maximalism and Materialism, at Trend Zone, Formex's section for trend inspiration, four of the season's most important trends are presented in an exhibition that is put together by the Swedish Fashion Council (Svenska Moderådet).
