  • Kitchen life in focus in The Odd Nest

    The task of designing the new stage and restaurant area at Formex has fallen to design team Oddbirds. The Odd Nest showcases everything from locally sourced produce to contemporary food trends and inspiration. Visitors are also offered a meeting place for thoughts, ideas and high-flying plans here.

  • This fall’s Formex showcases Nordic Charm

    The theme for this fall’s Formex 2012 is Nordic Charm, a tribute to the blond, simple Nordic style of interior design. The exhibition also has a new slot on the calendar, taking place on 16 19 August.

    Under höstens Formex 2012 är temat Nordic Charm, en hyllning till den blonda, enkla nordiska inredningsstilen. Mässan får också en ny tid i kalendern och äger nu rum den 16-19 augusti. – Över 850 utställare visar höstens utbud tillsammans med seminarier, trendspaningar och inspirationsutställningar berättar projektledaren Chicie Lindgren.

  • Byggstart för Stockholmsmässans nya entré

    Idag togs det första spadtaget till Stockholmsmässans nya huvudentré. Totalt investeras drygt 100 miljoner kronor i ett nytt entrétorg som ger besökare och utställare en tydlig och inspirerande utgångspunkt till de olika evenemangen, samtidigt som ett nyttt centralt placerat presscenter invigs. Stockholmsmässans nya entré ska vara klar hösten 2013.

  • Success as Sweden’s top wines are selected

    The Vinordic Wine Challenge, Sweden’s only EU-certified wine competition, has selected this year’s best wines. Almost 700 wines competed in 37 classes, within ten different flavour types. Within each category, a gold, silver and bronze winner is then named. These are Sweden’s best-value wines.

  • Chef of the Year restaurant brings together Sweden’s top chefs at GastroNord

    GastroNord, 24-27 April, will see the launch of the Chef of the Year restaurant. The menu at this temporary pop-up restaurant will be devised by the Chef of the Year Association, including contributions from Klas Lindberg, Tommy Myllymäki and Markus Aujalay, all winners of the Chef of the Year title.

  • Hear about the world’s oldest drinkable champagne, plus grappa, wine and beer at Vinordic

    Next week sees the launch of the Vinordic School (25-27 April), which features a whole host of talks. Visitors can learn about the tasting and re-corking of the bottles of champagne found in a shipwreck in the Åland Archipelago. At the fair, there will also be wine tasting and glass testing with Gaja and Riedel, as well as beer tasting with brewmaster Garrett Oliver.

  • All about rosé and champagne at Vinordic

    At Vinordic, 25-27 April, which takes place alongside GastroNord at Stockholm International Fairs, visitors will get the opportunity to find out everything there is to know about rosé and champagne. Experts will be on hand at the Rosé Wine Tasting and Josephine Edelskog’s Champagne Bar to offer advice and tips.

  • School Cook of the Year, Electrolux Nordic Challenge and Swedish Pizza Championships

    The School Cook of the Year (Årets skolkock), the Electrolux Nordic Challenge (Nordisk kocklandskamp), Sharpest Chef (Vassaste kocken), Sweden’s best value wines and much more will be decided at GastroNord and Vinordic, which will bring together the hotel, restaurant, catering and fast food industries at Stockholm International Fairs week beginning 16 April.

  • “A manifestation in sustainable construction”

    56,745 people visited this year’s Nordbygg, held on the 20-23 March 2012 at Stockholmsmässan in Älvsjö, Sweden. They came to an exhibition center packed to the rafters with around 900 exhibitors from more than 30 countries. There were also some interesting contributions to the energy debate.

  • Turning up the heat at GastroNord and Vinordic

    Week 17 sees the main event of the year within the hotel, restaurant and catering industry, when GastroNord (24-27 April) and Vinordic (25-27 April) are held at Stockholmsmässan. This year’s fairs will attract the culinary élite from Sweden, Finland and Norway. There will also be all manner of new features, including the new Chef of the Year area.

  • Vinordic School and ice champagne bar

    Vinordic, Northern Europe’s biggest trade fair for beers, wines, spirits and ciders, will be held on 25-27 April. Visitors will be able to experience the new Vinordic School, a champagne bar made from ice and the Vinordic Rosé Wine Tasting Bar. Alongside Vinordic, GastroNord will also be held at Stockholmsmässan.

  • Unprecedented international interest

    Overseas interest in Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, which ended at the weekend, continues to grow. This year, one in four trade visitors was from overseas and the number of foreign visitors was up 13 % compared with 2011. The exhibition received a total of 38,814 visitors, which is 392 more than last year.

  • The design event of the year for Scandinavian furniture and lighting design

    On 7-11 February it will be time for the 61st Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, the world's largest and most important meeting place for Scandinavian furniture and lighting design. Some 740 exhibitors from 31 countries will gather at Stockholmsmässan to display the latest products within furniture, lighting and textiles for both the home and public environments.

  • Formex kick starts the spring season

    Formex, which marked the start of the season for the Nordic décor and gift industry, drew to a close last weekend. This spring’s fair attracted 876 exhibitors. Interest from abroad continued to grow, with the number of foreign visitors up 7%. The total number of visitors was 25,389.

  • Talk show about future offices with Mark Isitt, Stefan Nilsson and guests

    The Hello Show gives invited guests from widely differing backgrounds and industries the opportunity to debate the notion of the organization and the office as a phenomenon. The talk show is one aspect of the Hello! project, which has been initiated by Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair to promote discussion and provide inspiration regarding the modern workplace.

  • Fusion Walk in Greenhouse

    In Greenhouse, Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair's hall for independent designers and design schools, visitors will encounter fashion and design as part of a Fusion Walk, which serves as both an installation and a catwalk for fashion shows.
