Arla Foods, the farmer-owned dairy company, is calling on shoppers to support dairy farming by buying its well-known and leading dairy products including Anchor, Cravendale and Lurpak in a new national campaign, Support Our Farmers, which includes a series of advertisements in the national press, leaflets and a social media initiative.
Arla is strengthening its presence in the Brazilian market by announcing a shared ownership with its longtime partner, Brazil’s largest dairy company, Vigor Alimentos S.A.
Arla has triumphed twice in The Grocer magazine’s Supplier of the Year awards. As well as picking up the award for best own label dairy supplier, it has walked away with the award for best branded chilled supplier.
Arla has developed a global strategy for Sustainable Dairy Farming, focusing on animals, climate, nature and resources. The new strategy will further reinforce Arla’s position as a responsible company and assist Arla farmers with their ongoing work around climate, waste and animal welfare.
With Arla’s one billion litre fresh milk processing facility at Aylesbury dairy nearing completion, the company plans to close its dairy and distribution facility at Ashby-de-la-Zouch and transfer volume to the new dairy in Buckinghamshire.
Arla Foods is a 100 per cent farmer-owned cooperative, with 12,400 European dairy farmers owners, 1,600 of whom are British.
