Westbury Dairies Limited, the joint venture between Arla and First Milk, has today confirmed that full ownership of Westbury Dairies Limited has transferred to Arla. The joint venture company, located at Westbury, Wiltshire, operates the country’s most modern skimmed milk powder and bulk butter production facility.
The home of Anchor Butter has been surprised and delighted at the level of response from a visit of Wiltshire Federation of Women’s Institutes to the Westbury Dairy.
Arla Foods UK is supporting the business requirements of the Arla Foods amba cooperative by processing German concentrated skimmed milk at Westbury, for up to a three-month period, from today.
When Arla Foods begins selling skimmed milk powder, processed at Westbury Dairies, in Wiltshire, on the Global Dairy Trade auction, from 17 December, it will be the first time that a British dairy product has entered the auction.
Arla’s investment in the development of its bespoke butter facility at Westbury, is allowing the company to extend its UK manufactured butter offering with production of Anchor block butter beginning at the site. This will be available from September.
