Baroness Newlove came to Bury to see how the £90,000 cash injection from the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) to the Bury East Township Forum is being spent.
A packed agenda awaits on Thursday 7 February when the forum meets at Metro Christian Centre, Parkhills Road at 7pm.
Plans to improve the health of Bury East residents will be high on the agenda when the Bury East Township Forum meets on Monday 26 November at the Jubilee Centre.
Bury Council consists of six towns, Bury, Ramsbottom, Tottington, Radcliffe, Whitefield and Prestwich. Formed in April 1974 as a result of Local Government re-organisation it was one of the ten original districts that formed the County of Greater Manchester. The Borough has an area of 9,919 hectares (24,511 acres) and serves a population of 187,500.
