  • Road closures for the Bury 10k on Sunday 18 September

    Don’t forget that this Sunday is the day of the first Bury 10k and family fun run. A number of the borough’s roads and junctions will be closed, or have access restricted, to ensure the safety of all those taking part.

  • 2018 Parliamentary Boundary Review

    Today (13 September) the independent Boundary Commission for England (BCE) has published its initial proposals for new Parliamentary constituencies. The publication marks the start of 12 weeks of consultation, during which the Commission needs to hear from you to help shape the proposed new constituency boundaries.

  • Road closure – A665 Radcliffe New Road

    A deep hole has appeared in the middle of the carriageway on A665 Radcliffe New Road opposite its junction with Leicester Road. Currently, the collapse of a United Utilities sewer/manhole is suspected as the cause.

  • Boxing Day floods – the official verdict

    Work is well under way to design and commission defence measures to prevent a repeat of last year’s unprecedented Boxing Day floods. Council leaders have given this assurance on the day that a Greater Manchester report is published into the events caused by Storm Eva.

    Bury Council’s recycling officers are out in the community again next week to help residents get to grips with what goes in which bin.
