Meet the author at Ramsbottom Library

Author Mark Radcliffe will give a talk about his new novel at Ramsbottom Library and Adult Learning Centre on Thursday 21 November.

Mark is a former mental health nurse who decided to pursue his ambition by enrolling on a creative writing MA course at the University of East Anglia.

"My plan was to sign up with an agency and do some freelance nursing to pay my way through the course but it didn't work out that way,” he said. “Instead I found myself writing a regular column for the trade magazine the Nursing Times.”

After finishing his MA he took up a teaching position at Southampton University and then at a nurse training college in Brighton. All the while he was writing his first novel “Gabriel's Angel”, which examines psychotherapy, morality and the balance between good and evil. His latest novel is “Stranger than Kindness” and is published by Bluemoose Books Ltd, based in Hebden Bridge.

The evening starts at 7pm. Tickets cost £3 for library members in advance and £4 on the night or for non-members, and refreshments are included. To book, call 0161 253 5352 or email ramsbottom.lib@bury.gov.uk
